Although he's obviously too modest to mention
it, I think all of Erato and Able should be made aware
of the fact that Mike Juster has just landed one of his
brilliant comic poems in "The Paris Review."

Who says there isn't hope?

Bravo!

(Hope? Hope that I can write that well in metrical verse? Hardly!)

Hoorah!

What's being a sidekick all about if you can't bask in some vicarious glory?

Good night! Congratulations, Mr. Juster -- what a feeling that must be...

Hey, it's Paris Review that we ought to be congratulating -- they got lucky.

Nicely done!

Michael Juster 03-15-2001 01:23 PM

Thanks everyone! I'm really pleased, and it just goes to show that we need more poems about overweight men sitting on a sofa watching TV with a dog. Seriously, "Visions of the Serengeti" was one of the first drafts I posted here, and it was a much better poem for everyone's input.

A. E. Stallings 03-16-2001 05:00 AM

Could we have an encore post of the poem please?
