Along with a pithy rejection slip from The Formalist, I also received notice that OUR Deborah Warren is the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award, 2001 winner (final judge, X. J. Kennedy). Congrats, Deborah, and to OUR FINALISTS, Thomas Carper, Rhina Espaillat, Len Krisak, and Alicia Stallings. Congrats to all. Erato Rules!

I thought the final judge was supposed to be W Prunty, no?

Yes, Prunty is this year's judge. At least I thought so. Deborah won last year's. But maybe this year's as well?

To clarify, this notice is for the 2001 competition and Prunty is the judge for this year, 2002. So this may be old news to others but was new news to me--and, hell, it doesn't hurt to remind recent 'spherians of the powerful company they keep! (And looking over the past year's postings on this thread, I don't find any notice taken of these accomplishments.)
