Audio archive at Harvard's Woodberry Poetry Room

There's quite a selection of audio recordings of poetry readings here, from the Woodberry Room at Harvard. I just came across it. What a blast, hearing the voices of poets you know only from the page. Some of them go decades back. My favorite so far: Tomas Transtromer (including the Swedish, Janice).

Thanks for this fantastic link, Andrew. I've spent far too much time there already but have so much more I want to hear. Another window on the personalities of the poets I've loved, but only silently.

Thanks so much, Andrew! First on my list: Borges' lecture on metaphor. I've shared the link on my blog and will post it on Facebook.

Very cool! Listening to Bonnefoy now. Thanks!

Oh, Marvelous. Thank you, thank you, Andrew. Despite a horrible shortage of time, I started to listen to Tranströmer (I love his work so much, but he is translated by so many that it isn't worth dipping my toe in those waters), and when he mentioned Thourise, I thought, "yes, yes, I loved his work from the first time I read it, and long ago intended to translate him but other things got in the way."

So I went directly and pulled out his "Samlade dikter". (Which luckily was in the alphabetical order it was supposed to be.) If, in time, a Thoursie translation appears on our esteemed board, it will be thanks to you. ;)

According to this wonderful interview, I believe we have Don Share to thank for the audio at Woodberry Poetry Room. Thanks for the link, Andrew.
