I guess I'm the featured poet in Light Magazine in the autumn issue which just arrived. Editor John Mella has published ten poems, although I warn you one is by Mister Sullivan and one by Master Gwynn. Of far greater interest than my feeble efforts at light verse is a perceptive essay on Murphy in the same issue. It's by the poet and critic who knows me best, Alan Sullivan. Now I ask you, how incestuous is that? Well, it wasn't Alan's, but John Mella's idea.

Keep at it, Tim: you may charm you way to the top of poetry's ranks.

Congratulations, Tim! My issue is probably still swimming the Atlantic. Light is one of the few magazines I really look forward to. And end up reading half of it aloud to my husband.

Please pardon my ignorance.
Way to go, Tim. Bob |
Congratulations, Tim. How long do they usually take to reply to submissions? (I sent them some stuff over 2 months ago--I'm not at all concerned, just curious.)

Tim:
North Dakota is a whole lot closer to Chicago (home of Light) than western Washington is, so I'm still camped out by my mail box awaiting the current issue. I'm looking forward to it! Richard |
Tony, anywhere from a month to three. Richard, you and Alicia are both in the same issue. I just read Alan's essay for the first time since he wrote it a couple years ago, and I was struck afresh by how very fine it is.
