Well, my latest publication credit has finally become a reality. My poem "Map of the Visitor's Face" can be found at
http://www.melange-journal.org/3-1/face.html

And I'll be getting a contributor's copy as well.

(I'm shocked I got in! This journal has Pushcart winners and nominees, as well as this issue having a Pulitzer nominee! And then there's little me. I call this a real YAHOO!)

Davida:
Congratulations! I'm looking forward to seeing your poem and to reading a journal whose editors have such good taste. Don't let yourself feel inferior because of the other contributors' credentials: they were all just little ol' poets, too, before the sky opened up and showered them with acclaim. It could be that you're only beginning to discover your place.

Congrats: It's always fun to fly with the eagles (although it's a downer when your work appears with Lyn Lifshin's!). Keep at it--trying to get published is a nightmare, but it's an essential step in the process. Congrats again! Mike

Nice work, Davida. It's always a pleasure to see fellow Eratospherians in print. I also like the poem.

Thanks, all!

Yes, publishing is a difficult task - but necessary for the serious writers. Especially since some editors take such a long time to reply (waiting now 8 months to hear from Interbang!), and I don't sim sub.

But I feel truly honored that my little poem is in the same publication with such an illustrious poet. I think the editor likes to have a nice sampling of poems from all levels of publishing experience - I like that.

I can hardly wait to get my print copy!

(Got to pull out my Poet's Market again - haven't submitted anything for a couple of weeks now.)
