What an illustrious career. One among the many things that never ceases to impress me about Richard Wilbur is his cultivated sense of aesthetic decorum, which I could not have described better than Mark Strand in his tribute: '... precision, the pursuit of rightness, / Balance, some ineffable decorum, the measured, circuitous / Stalking of the subject, turning surprise to revelation'.
I recently picked up Anterooms from the local bookstore and glad I did. Thank you for the link.
