Hello all,
I haven't been around in awhile, but wanted to say Dr. Kevin Walzer of Word Press Publishing phoned me yesterday evening with the news that my manuscript, An Alabaster Flask, has been chosen as their winner for this year's First Book Prize, and will be published most likely in the spring of next year. Several of the poems in that collection were first posted here, and I want also to say a great, great thanks to the many talented critics who helped me work on them. I am so grateful for all your time and advice. Jennifer |
Fabulous news, Jennifer, the toughest hurdle of all in po biz.

Congratulations again!
I know I already congratulated you once, but a book publication seems to demand more than one little way to go!, doesn't it? Especially since this means that you're now a poet worth sucking up to, let me say again how great and well-deserved this news is. I hope your kids are impressed! Bob |
Great news! It is tough to get a book published. As soon as it comes out, get out there and read it everywhere you can. Poetry books don't market themselves, nor can the publishers afford to do much, so it is up to the poets to create the market.

And of course, don't fail to let all of us here know when the book is out and how we can get ahold of it. Congratulations!
