I haven't been able to get onto the boards lately, not even to tend my own, because of incredibly slow loading times (merely posting this has already cost me over five minutes), but I am investing the time to brag about winning the Valentine's Day poetry contest over at Callahan's for "Learning by a Narrow Light." It is my only love poem to date -- really! The best thing about it is that it never once uses the word "love." The next best thing is that the form and theme cohere rather nicely. Third best (maybe this should be first) is that it's true.

Way to go, Richard! Does this mean we're in for a spate of love poems? Why not. What else is there. Just be sure you don't refer to a "heart" as anything but a muscle or Kate will cite you for taboo breaking (per her latest metrical posting). Great news.
