Shamelessly trying to drum up an audience.
For anyone in the Massachusetts/New York area, perhaps: I'll be reading at 4:00 On Thursday, October 3, at Mount Holyoke (it's a tiny campus, and there'll be posters around announcing the exact location, which will probably be the coffee shop across from the main hall. Thanks. |
Mount Holyoke...sounds nice! I wish I could be there, Len. I hope it goes well!

Len
Wish I could be there, but it's a long drive. If anyone were driving up from the NY area, I'd be up for it. Knock 'em dead! Terese |
Thanks, guys.
If any other benighted souls wish to drop in, the venue is now definitely the Stimpson Library Poetry Room. Cheers. |
Len, There is an old saying by artists: You grow when you show. You grow when you read. Or, You really grow when you read. Well, that doesn't rhyme. Could you help with a good line? Reading in front of people proves something ... Let us know how it goes. Tape it? You learn when you hear yourself, too. Good luck. TJ And drop the 'shameless'! Promote yourself! It's Ok. We want to know! [This message has been edited by Tom Jardine (edited September 27, 2002).] |
Thanks, Tom, but I 'm
afraid I wouldn't even begin to know how to tape the whole thing. Mt. Holyoke handles that kind of thing, I suspect. Anyway, it means dinner with Robert Shaw, Mary Jo Salter, Brad Leithauser, and possibly Sven Birkets, so I guess I should be more than happy that the occasion of a reading has added to my potential name-dropping storehouse. (That was a joke, you four, if any of you happened to be listening!) |
No, Len. They'll be dropping your name. That was not a joke, in case any of the four happen to be listening.
|
Very kind, Roger, and I do
appreciate the thought, but you've GOT to be joking. Anyway, many thanks! |
