I'm told (by Carol Taylor, thanks) that this is the appropriate forum to make this suggestion / plug. Anyone who's interested in metrical poetry might want to have a look at a new book called *The Measured Word: On Poetry and Science." In the book, I've got an essay called "The Shape of Poetry" which makes the case that metrical poetry is organic, that it takes its shape and finds its form like other complex patterns in nature.

The editor's name is Kurt Brown, and the book was recently published by the University of Georgia Press. You can get it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other places.
