I just noticed in the new Dark Horse, (Summer 2002), a terrific sonnet sequence by Rhina Espaillat, a splendid poem, "Settling," by Deborah Warren, and a poem by Robert Crawford which contains what I think must be the best use yet made in English poetry of the treacherous Rome/home rhyme pair.

The issue has work by big name British poets, like Peter Porter and Peter Redgrove, and an essay by Dana Gioia, among other good things. It's a journal well worth checking out. Congratulations to all!

Could someone post the Dark Horse address for subscriptions, etc.? (And also overseas rates if those are available?)

Thanks!

Congratulations, dear colleagues, on these placements. The Dark Horse is damn tough to get into, and in fact, I believe it has the highest standards of any poetry magazine in the English-speaking world. I strongly urge all of you to subscribe to it and contribute to it. It has been one of the best venues for work by Alan and Tim for many years, and Gerry Cambridge, a fine poet and brilliant editor, deserves all of our support.
