Today got my contributor's copy of Leviathan Quarterly out of the UK. They had a feature on new US poetry. Am tickled as this marks my UK debut (and also my first experiment with Sapphics). I don't know how easy/hard it is to lay hold of, but thought I'd alert our UK Sphereans. It's a fairly new journal, and looks interesting.

Leviathan Quarterly is, so I understand, edited by Michael Hulse, with David Hartnett, John Kinsella and other associate editors, well-known here in the UK.

More information can be obtained via leviathanmh@hotmail.com. The postal address is, I think, Market House,Market Place, Deddington, Oxford OX15 0SE.

Michael Hulse and I were good friends many years ago, when we were both students at the University of St. Andrews and we were apparently unique among the student body for actually wanting to write poetry and not just study it (I was visiting for a year in the English department; Michael was the star of the German department). Michael was a wonderful fellow with boundless enthusiasm and talent and smarts and the highest possible standards, so I commend Alicia for having passed his muster (even as I commend Michael for editing a magazine that would draw contributions from the likes of Alicia). Kudos all around!

And Clive, thanks for the email address. I've wanted to get back in touch with Michael for quite some time. Michael was a faithful letter writer, but I'm afraid that I let my end of the correspondence lapse years ago and so we've been out of touch.
