As Alan mentioned, Longman will bring out our Beowulf next July, and to coincide with that, Waywiser Press will publish my second large collection, Very Far North, in Great Britain. Both houses have requested that I record a compact disk to accompany the books. I'm still seeking a US publisher for VFN. In September I'll be the featured poet in Light, which will publish a whole pile of disreputable poems along with (how incestuous is this?) an essay on Murphy by (you guessed it) Alan Sullivan.

All good news deserved Tim, congratulations.
Happy when poets are acknowledged.

Dear Tim,

All of this is wonderful news.
You should be ecstatic (not just static).

Now--tell us all about Waywiser Press, please???
Pretty please????

Philip Hoy is proprietor of Waywiser, a fledgling imprint for which VFN will be the first volume. Between The Lines, his established imprint, publishes justly acclaimed book-length interviews with our senior poets on both sides of the Atlantic, i.e., Hecht, Justice, Wilbur, Heaney, Snodgrass, Hamilton, Simic, etc. I particularly commend to our members Philip's interview with Hecht, which can be previewed at http://www.interviews-with-poets.com Mr. Hecht will be writing a prefatory essay to my book, so I can hardly be objective about his new book, The Darkness And The Light.
But folks, I think it's the greatest book of English language verse to appear since Wilbur gave us his Collected Poems in 1988.

All fantastic news, sir -- a hearty congratulations all around. I was pleased to see you were featured on Poetry Daily's site several days ago, as well.

Dear Jennifer, I was? Nobody tells me anything.

I knew it, I just knew it! Having pulled up the page, and seen it was a beautiful poem of yours from "The Formalist," the thought came to me that I should post an announcement here, but then felt sure I would be superfluous...ah well, 'never assume,' as my mother always said. Here is the URL:

Dear Jennifer, Many thanks for calling this to my attention and for kindly posting the URL. Poetry Daily did mention this to me long ago, but I clean forgot about it.

Thanks to Jennifer for bringing the Poetry Daily honor to our attention, and congratulations to you, Tim. As you know, I've been given a sneak peek at Hecht's introductory essay to VFN, and it is a work that any poet would make an unholy bargain to have written on his or her behalf -- and best of all, every word is true.
Richard
