Tim Murphy has several poems on the latest "The New Formalist", a more or less new webzine, and I have one. Are there any other sphereans there?

My poem, The Green Light, was work-shopped here at Ablemuse.

How many poetry web-zines are there out there? Gazillions?

Tom, I meant to mention this, and I congratulate you. Other Sphereans? Gail White, Peter Richards, Jerry Jenkins, and there may be others I don't know. Erato Rules! as Juster likes to exclaim. There is also the most negative review of my work ever to appear, a review of Very Far North by George Held. The Sphereans whose feathers I have ruffled, (of whom there are legions), will be amused. I also call to our collective attention Jerry Jenkins' review of that same George Held in this very issue! Tim

Congratulations to those who appear.

The review of TM's book is strange. Is it unusual to have a review appear in the same issue with poems from the book being reviewed?

Anyway, though the review is harsh and a little snotty and (in one or two spots) inappropriately ad hominem, it's not a bad review for a "worst" review, I think. The bottom line is that the reviewer wishes that 1/4 of the poems in the book were cut, but the optimist in me notes that this is implicit approval for 3/4 of the book....not bad!

Tom, "The Green Light" is a joy! I'd no idea you had that sweetly whimsical and wry side to your poems. More in that vein, please!

Tim, I love "Elsewhere" and "The Drowned Immortal" especially. It's a delight to read your work in all its deeply incisive and pithy authenticity.

Peter Richards, Gail White and Jerry Jenkins are there too.

Peter's poem is another deep breath of fresh air!

I will soon get to Jerry's five and Gail's four.

Sincere congratulations to you all!

Terese

Thanks for the commiseration, Roger, and no it's not that bad. Alan actually likes it for its illumination of the least attractive aspects of my character! With which you're fairly familiar. Not that that is the purpose of a review. For the record, I don't write jacket copy, nor do I bring up Warren with interviewers. They do. As to my writing infrequently: 450 pages of trade books in five years?
