A movie opening in theaters across America on Friday, "The Sum of All Fears," starring Ben Affleck as Tom Clancy's C.I.A. agent, Jack Ryan, marks Alicia Stallings' debut as a Hollywood lyricist. See "The Current Cinema" in THE NEW YORKER, June 3, which opens the review with "'The Sum of All Fears'" has a female chorus. It's that important a movie. The women's voices soar eloquently over Red Square...."

You know Alicia, a little singer you may have heard of frequently sings lyrics in Latin. Her name, I believe, is Onion or Enron. Something like that. Oh wait--Enya, that's it. I wonder if she is looking for a new lyricist. As your agent, we will do the usual 70% (for me)/30% (for you) split on all royalties. Whaddya say?

PS Congrats on the credit. Most impressive. My boyfriend just saw the movie. I will have to tell him all about your participation. How did this come about?

Yippee! How wonderful for you, Alicia!! Let's break out the champagne and toast your debut, and all the successes seen from members of this site, it must be quite a thrill, and a goal for the rest of us to work for!

I've always loved Jewel's lyrics, and her voice, that would be my dream, having Jewel sing lyrics from a poem I wrote! Her CD, "Spirit", is one of the best!

Happy life, Alicia!
