I used to do this as a summer job back in my student days when we had pounds, shillings and pence, and the only calculator was in your head. I was working the day we changed to decimal currency.
Ah, memories. Some of them hilarious, looking back, but not at the time. (Like getting stranded in Morecambe, and without the driver.)
