A fine little magazine out of Berkeley, Coracle, will be having a reading of contributors from their upcoming issue, on Sunday, May 20th at 7:30 in Berkeley, at the Barnes and Noble (I don't know why it isn't at Cody's) on Shattuck Avenue. Myself among them, reading for around my allotted time of around 300 seconds (So this doesn't count as my fifteen minutes of fame--or no more than a third of it.) Would love to see any Eratospherians there.

For the "Iambs of I am out of here" crowd, Coracle might be a bit too free-verse laden. But they will publish the occasional formal poem, and more generally seek out poems with craft, livliness and/or a sense of the vernacular. The poems they took from me are three haiku, and a list poem titled "Why We Anthropomorphise the Penis." Less scatalogical than the title might indicate.

Tiny taters compared to, say, Pulitzer Prize consideration or cashmoney prizes. But the brag catagory seems to get more traffic than the general announcements listings, so here I am, saying come to the reading, if you're in the neighborhood. Though as long as I'm here, I might as well mention recent acceptances from The Lyric, Medicinal Purposes and Texas Review.
