No doubt some members may not have across Alan Sullivan’s excellent web-site. Though references to it have appeared in the past few weeks in a quiet fashion on various threads, I note that Alan has not yet posted the address to his Profile.

The proper place for it is here, under the banner of "The Accomplished Members", for it is evidence of accomplishment indeed.

The URL is http://www.crucat.com/.

Though Alan describes his site as still under construction, you will already find here much of value and interest:

Some sixty-one fine poems, in formal measures, written between 1994 and 2001, many of which have been published in prestigious magazines

Extracts from his translation (with Tim Murphy) of "Beowulf", with "fore and aft essays" on the provenance of the poem and of the translation - This is now available from A. B. Longman, which has chosen it as the opening work in the newly reissued Longman Anthology of English Poetry. The text will also be published separately as a Longman Critical Edition early in 2003.

A sailing memoir - "Cruising with Catullus" - in prose and verse

Essays or reviews on A D Hope, Robert Francis, Richard Wilbur, Dana Gioia, Timothy Murphy and Greg Williamson.

I recommend warmly it to everyone. There is much to enjoy and to learn from here.

Well done, Alan!
