Hi, Jill!

And welcome to this 'Sphere.

I am very glad you are here, since I didn't know your work till now - I have my excuses, living here in Oz - and I am already a fan from the three posted below!

That "eulogy" is what we down-under would call "a real bonza, rip-snorter pome". I just love the sounds in it.

Love the riffing on the timor mortis theme as well.

I am nettled and hectored by a good dozen obsessions--more, probably.

Wow, that's more than I have, but I think poets need as many as they can get. And God, sex and death are a great set to start with.

But look—I'm hardly spiritual.

Yes, you are indeed.

And I like that a great deal better than those poets who are softly spiritual.

I hold kind of tightly to the belief that all that's required of me is to do my work honestly and hone the poems to their absolute shiniest. The rest is up to the universe.

I agree absolutely.

My muse says: "write 'em and show 'em - that's all you have to do."

I really believe that a good poem will look after itself, and the sickly, weedy ones will die on the hillside, and good riddance to 'em.

Form is best when it's fucked with.

Again, I couldn't agree more.

It's great to see you here, Jill, and I hope you can hang around the place sometimes, if you can.
