Zounds!
Where can you hear Marybeth Rua-Larsen reading her poems?

Thanks for this Mary
Personally I was totally taken with Rose's "Poor Dolores" - pity it wasn't Rose reading it but still...A truth (about some) made manifest.
The Woman of my Dreams was pretty damned good too!

Rose was also the "blind" judge of the ekphrastic poem contest. And — since it's likely he'll be too modest to come in here and say it himself — I'll add that the First Prize was awarded to Peter Bloxsom, he of 14 by 14 and The Chimaera — and a member here to boot! Follow the link above the poetry list on the fron page to read the results and the poems, with Rose's comments on the first three.

Just finished reading and listening. Fantastic, everyone! A real treat to hear the speakers! Thanks for mentioning that, Henry - I neglected to look at the contest part. Will do so now. Terrific reading, by the way! And the artwork entertaining!
Congratulations to all!

Oh, what a beautiful issue. Something to savor all day, a little at a time.
Congrats to all--the poetry makers, and the zine movers-and-shakers.
Made my day-- and I will fill it to bursting with Soundzine's wonderful contents.

And please note Rose's "James O'Dwyer" poem, read by himself. A hoot and a pleasure.

Thanks, Mary! There is just too much good stuff here to name it all, but I love your "Woman of My Dreams," and Rick's "Let's Get It On," and Henry Q.'s "Irene," and yes, yes...Rose's "O'Dwyer" poem. Wow! I also think the art work and art photography are amazing. I'm gonna have to write to Frances Melhop and tell her how much I love her dollhouse photographs. Lucky me, for sure.

Soundzine is so much fun, isn't it? Having a slow connection, I have to pick and choose which recordings I download, but I'm working my way through. Rick's "Let's Get It On" is next.
Obviously, I recommend checking out the contest winners. I had a tough time sorting out the last seven poems, because they were all so good. Read the poems, look at the photograph, and see how well they captured it. And I was so impressed with the way Jonathan Lu handled the reading of Heather Bell's piece!
I'm always gushing about Soundzine's in-house readers, but they deserve it. Being read by a good reader is an honor.

p.s. Marybeth, I loved your reading of "Morphine Dreams" (and the poem). You have a great voice.

soundzine's next
Great poems, great art, great voices!
I notice their next issue will be sonnets and there is a call for sonnets on the submissions page.
