Default Pedro Poitevin in New Verse News

Smacking it out of the park on a Saturday morning -- a terzanelle (!) on plagarism by Pedro Poitevin in NVN, here.

Great job, Pedro. It's hard to believe you took a news story that's only a few days old and wrote such a poem and got it published in such a venue so quickly.

I remember reading the Lehrer chapter on Dylan not that long ago and thinking how odd it was that Dylan would say such a thing (something to the effect that he writes songs when he feels he has something to say). It seemed to be contrary to everything else I had read about Dylan's approach to song composition. But I never suspected that Lehrer had simply made up the quote.

Thank you, Ed, Bob, Janice, Jean! Nice to be up there. (I improved it a little bit after submitting, but I'm very happy it sneaked through!)

Pedro.

Terrific, Pedro! Dylan once said, "You don't have to write a villanelle to know which way the meter's going," so I assume that's why you wrote a terzanelle instead. And terzanelles are tough. Double congrats.

Michael, can we trust that your Dylan quote is authentic?
