Deborah Warren has a pile of poems in the new Formalist, and there are other staff entries from Juster, Wakefield and Murphy. Very Far North will be featured in Poetry Daily on June 2, and two poems will appear there.

This issue of the Formalist does seem quite strong... but maybe am biased because so many of the names are familiar.
Congratulations, Tim, on the PD feature. I hope it brings you many new readers. Although PD makes every effort to be catholic in its offerings, I have a suspicion that they have a soft spot for the formal stuff.
kudos!

Maybe they should just change the name of the Formalist to Eratosphere and be done with it? But seriously, congratulations to Deborah, Mike, Richard and Tim. I look forward to seeing the issue.

Great news, Tim, but
how on earth do you guys get your copies
so early? I'm still waiting.

I'm with Len -- how come Tim always knows what I've published before I do? I just hope he lets me know if I ever put out a book.
More important is that Poetry Daily recognition. They have a ton of readers. Good for you, Tim.

Don Selby, editor of Poetry Daily, has featured me several times, for my books, and on behalf of the Formalist. Blessings on Don. The Formalists I received were contributors' copies, so all you folks who subscribe will have them soon. The only real news in my posting is that Deborah has so many poems in the Formalist. Coming on strong!

In my swift perusal of the Table of Contents, I missed an ingeniously rhymed Horatian Ode translated by OUR Len Krisak. Erato rules.

It is kind of weird that the issue gets to North Dakota AND Athens Greece before it gets to the rest of you!
The Sphere rules the issue. (Len gets my vote for most ingenious rime, but won't give it away.) And Chelsea Rathbourn has got a super poem in it. We need to sign that girl up!

Everyone is too, too kind.
I shall accept encomia in
the form of moolah in the mail!
Yes, an all-Warren issue would
be interesting. We would never
stop envying her and teasing her
about it at Pow-wow.

Aliki: No question. Len has the best rhyme in the issue. I won't give it away either.
