Sleaze & Slander has hit the streets--and it's messy
Measure Press has just released Sleaze & Slander, my "new and selected" light verse collection:
http://www.measurepress.com/measure/...leaze-slander/
The majority of it is original verse, but it has Latin translations from Horace, Martial, Ausonius, Luxorius and Erasmus. It also has last year's co-winner of the Barnstone Prize, a long raunchy Middle Welsh poem by proto-feminist Gwerful Mechain as well as to the mirror-image poem to which she is responding by Dafydd ap Gwilym.
Sleaze & Slander also has selections from another imminent book, The Billy Collins Experience (White Violet Press) which consists entirely of poems written in the voice of Billy Collins on days that were not his best ones.
I would be grateful for your support!

You had me at "sleaze." I'll need to get this.

Congratulations, Mike. I'll be ordering soon & look forward to the laughs, wry smiles, & awkward glimpses of human nature sure to ensue. (Not to mention the metrical excellence that's a given in your work.)

That's disgusting, scandalous! I ordered mine immediately -- can't wait to get my hands on it.
Best,
Ed
P.S. I won't say that I'm sad, but I'll wear an exaggerated pout and hold my hands down while making an eloquent shrug if your poem about the mimes isn't there.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words & support.
Ed, all the poems that are a weird mix of the serious and the whimsical --including "Rounding Up the Mimes"--are in the evolving manuscript looking for a congenial home.

Congratulations, Mike!. I'll be up to Newburyport later in the month, and I hope to get a copy then, if you have some on hand.
