Default Measure for Measure, the metrical anthology

Some of you may remember this call for submissions from almost four years ago, and you might be interested to know that it's finally borne fruit.

Here at last is the book's page on Amazon.

The Sphere members and friends who are included, as far as I can tell, are Jennifer Reeser, Catherine Tufariello, Lewis Turco, Mary Meriam,* and me, but there may be quite a lot I don't know, and I'd love to hear from anyone else who has work in the book. Anybody?

I'm happy to say that it's a Sphere workshopped poem of mine that will be included. Annie Finch and Alexandra Oliver are owed big thanks for seeing this project though to completion with Random House and Everyman.

Congratulations to all the Spherians who were selected for this anthology!

[Nearly four years ago I somehow missed the call for submissions . When I recently saw Jennifer's news on Facebook, I asked whether it was an open call for submissions, as it appears to have been in 2011. She told me it was by invitation, and had thanked Annie Finch and Alexandra Oliver, so now I'm really confused..]

I do look forward to buying the book. Can it be purchased directly from the publisher rather than on Amazon?

Yes; here's what I've found at the Random House website. A Google search on the full title pulls up many other sellers.

Catherine,

I am sorry for the confusion. Honestly -- I did not even know about this book until only a few weeks ago. I never saw any call for submissions from four years back. Annie wrote me several weeks ago, and asked if I had anything for her.

I sent some poems to her and Alexandra, and they responded with an acceptance a few days later.

My apologies. Annie and Alexandra didn't tell me much about the history of the project, and I did not ask. But I did not lie that I was solicited, and very recently. Ask Annie

Very happy to be a part of this project.

Jennifer

Thrilled to see it, Sam. This makes me smile. I'm sure there are more we know and love. Two days ago, I got a letter from an editor at The National Review, who wrote, "...you poets are a tight-knit bunch..."

I was going to jokingly suggest the divine Chandler has so many poems in so many publications next she will have her own Wiki article. And she does. I see from looking at Wiki's history that it's been up since 2013. Still it's news to me.

No problem, Jenn. Just confused. It's all good.
