Default Performing during the Edinburgh Festival

I've just been booked by The Festival of Spirituality and Peace to give four concerts during the Edinburgh Festival. More details on my blog.

I'm only planning to sing two of my sonnets, but one of those is my sonnet for Maz.

It's a lovely tribute, Duncan.

No David, let the sun shine. Congratulations, Duncan. My mom loved the Edinburgh festival. She went there while the men played golf.

Rain or sun, it's weather, innit? Edinburgh in August is great whatever the weather. It can be chilly in the evenings though. As a kid I went to the Tattoo every year (a case of overkill, but it was a family outing). I don't remember an occasion when we didn't have the rugs out over our knees. Thanks for your encouragement, David and Tim!

To quote some of the write-up, Duncan, which is lovely:

“Melodic and melancholic songs on acoustic guitar by Scottish singer/songwriter, Duncan Gillies MacLaurin, who has now lived in Denmark for over two decades. He portrays the natural beauty of where he resides on the west coast of Jutland, pays homage to poets such as George Mackay Brown and Wilfred Owen, and paints the contours of his own personal vision."

Congratulations! I'll be there if I can.

Jayne

Thanks, Jayne, and Janice! It would be great to see you there, Jayne. And thanks for the thumbs-up to the blurb. I wrote most of it myself, but providence would have it that a young Australian poet was at hand to add the finishing touches. It's a young and international crowd that makes the Fringe the success it is.
