I know from an earlier thread on Geoffrey Hill that many people here (including many I greatly respect) do not find him at all to their taste. For me, he is one of the most moving and profound poets of the past fifty years.
Thank you Clive. I'm in agreement with you. I have had trouble with his last two efforts however (Speech, Speech, & Sion). I got to see him read here in DC a few years back. Nice guy.
