My poem, "The Celebrity", that I posted over in Metrical, won 2nd place in a science fiction poetry contest jointly sponsored by Balticon 36 (a local science fiction convention) and Baltimore LITE, a local literary newspaper.
It will be published in the convention souvenir book and in LITE.
This is both my first publication, and the first time I've ever submitted anywhere, so I am very pleased!
I have also been invited to read at "Poetry in the Shade", a monthly poetry venue at a coffeeshop in Laurel, Maryland, next Saturday. So I'm having a good month!
