jeanne, when I received my first star after only 100 posts, I felt myself to be the object of not only unimaginable expectations, but also of jealousy and envy. Therefore, I subconsciously lessened my output of such excellent posts that had allowed me to rocket to that milestone. I guess in my case, the star system has been a detriment to a once-promising career as a literary luminary. I bear no ill will - my choices were my own. But perhaps my experience can serve as a cautionary tale for future up-and-comers.

This truth is, Jeanne, there was a fierce debate as to whether or not to give you a star, but I fought heroically on your behalf, and prevailed at last.

(Somebody told me that long ago, and I was gullible enough to believe it.)

Gail,

If I was Julie (but I'm not, because I'm just not that punny), I'd say:
Don't stop believing,
hold onto that feeling
starlight, people
ohohohhhh

Before or after Exile on Main Street, Ross? If after, watching Michael Moore eating spaghetti tops it.

Well, that doesn't top much, but my gag reflex. I can't much stand to watch anyone eat spaghetti. The noodles slopping over the chin, the noodles getting sucked in, sauce stains all about the mouth and chin. Why would you put that image in my head? Why man, why, why? There's sound effects too. Slurping noises. Uggh.
