I believe that was the case last year, John.

Matt, the 2016 results issue isn't out yet, though I've heard it has been sent to the printer and so it ought to be out soon.

Roger,

Thanks, yes I saw that on their site. I was wondering what the most recent issue with winners in was.

I just tried ordering the 2014 edition, which says it has finalist's poems in, but it's out stock. Presumably they also published winners in 2015 and 2016?

Matt

Wha? I thought your name was "Orwn"--two syllables, one vowel.

It has a bunch of invisible and silent letters.

Actually, I have lately considered publishing under this name in real life.

The deadline has not yet passed. You might still enter. I don't have anything to enter myself, but I'm hoping maybe lightning will strike before September.

Orwn.

I have always imagined a Celtic influence. In Welsh, "w" is a vowel, a sort of gentle "oo". I have always pronounced it, though, more like the Irish "aroon" as in Eileen Aroon (Eibhlín a Rún). It is a precious term of endearment.

Here is one of Dylan's less felicitous performances. Here he sings said song in Dublin and in the live recording you can clearly hear a denizen of that city cheerfully exhorting him to "feck off".

For the record, I read every single entry--about twenty of them many times.

Ann, I wish you and Walter/Orwn could meet--I bet you would get along very well.

That's it--I'm "outing" Orwn Arca this far--that name is an anagram of a promising young poet's last name.

(Everybody already knows that A.M. Juster is an anagram--that's old news now.)

I am confident, however, that no one will ever decipher the anagram in "Poochigian."

Ann, "Eileen Aroon" is a freaking gorgeous song--thanks for reminding me of it.

I just assumed Poochigian was an anagram for "I can hog poi," right?
