My book of translations from Petrarch, Longing For Laura, is now available at Amazon.com, but I encourage you to order directly from the publisher because they make more money that way and we need some folks like Birch Brook to stay interested. Ordering and other information is available now at www.birchbrookpress.info. They've been down for a while with website and other computer difficulties--I apologize if any of you have tried to get through and had difficulties.

Michael, the link should have a dot com, not a dot info.
But the dot com link, I've just noticed, doesn't seem to yield info about the book though it seems like the kind of press we're talking about. Maybe I've got the wrong link.

Roger: The link is accurate--info is a new but usable category. I can get there from my e-mail. It seems to be impossible to access from Eratosphere, though! You're right on that!

I acquired "Longing for Laura" a few weeks ago and have read it several times with great enjoyment and admiration. I encourage people to go out and get a copy.

What Roger said. Mike's prowess in exactly recreating Petrarch's demanding rhymes is little short of miraculous.

I want to add my voice to the chorus of well-deserved praise for "Longing for Laura." It's a beautiful translation, and more than that, a collection of wonderful poems in their own right: subtle, emotionally moving, intelligent, the works! Kudos to Mike: you done good.
