Default Meredith Bergmann's Launch

I attended Meredith Bergmann's launch reading for her chapbook, "A Special Education". It was held at a private residence in Manhattan. And it was a fine event. Here are the videos I compiled, including introductions by her husband and son and by her publisher, R. Nemo Hill, of Exot Books.

Meredith 1

Meredith 2

Meredith will also be reading with Josh Mehigan for Carmine Street Metrics at Otto's Shrunken Head on October 5th in New York City. Watch for information from Carmine Street.

Thanks for posting these, Rick. I really enjoyed both the intro and the poems. It was especially moving to hear from Daniel. Congrats to Meredith and Exot Books! (Perhaps this thread should be on Accomplished Members?)

You're probably right, Nausheen. Maybe I can get Alex to move it.

This was Sunday evening. Meredith's book is penetrating, and the event was great fun! Loved the views of the sunset over Central Park, the Tibetan art, and the folks as well.

Rick, your video compilations are a joy. I feel a bit like an exiled member of the Exot family over here and these virtual attendances at launches and readings take me to where I would have been if I had had powers of my own to make it happen. Thank you for sharing yours. The readings are stunning.

I feel like a bit of an Exot exile over here, Ann!

It was a beautiful night of poetry, with attendance from various camps in the New York School. I like the idea of a launch reading in a private home. Not as much static from the bar.

I'm glad folks like these videos. I have come to hate making them. But certain events are a must-document.

Another thank-you from me for the videos. But I'm also here to testify that I received A Special Education in today's mail, and I've greedily gobbled a first reading. And I can tell you all that it's wonderful. Moving, complex, cohesive, formally various and skillful. And a lovely, lovely physical object, which is what I have now come to expect of Exot. Bravi to all. And thank you, Meredith.
