Default Dana Gioia on The California Report

I just woke up to this on the radio, and thought others here might like to hear it, too. It's audio-only. (I smiled when he pronounced "Tuolumne," which came up in a recent thread here.)

I enjoyed Dana Gioia's comments, especially the poem "California Hills in August," but I got the impression that the interviewer was completely focused on rattling off her script of questions, and wasn't listening to anything he said. YMMV.

Thanks, Julie. What good use he made of his chess-clock time slots and predictable questions. You mention "Twalummy." I was impressed by "Del Nort" County. That's learning worthy of a laureate!
