It's not about the legal issues, Shaun, it's about the attitude and that counts for something. Legal or no, liberals and the left become intolerant when they support or abet or instigate moves like this.
It's not about the law. It's about fairness and letting bygones by bygones. I don't want a legitimate civil rights issue to become a basis for firing anyone.
This issue is close to my heart: in the state of Ohio I can be fired for being gay, by law. Fortunately, I have enlightened employers. That is a legal issue. Firing Eich is so petty, especially as his support for Prop 8 was a while back, and he was sorry that he supported Prop 8, and the man pleaded to stay at Mozilla.
Mercy must swing both ways.
