(Actually, having sorted out these problems before, I now know that it's nothing to do with The Oldie at all - they aren't the ones who dish out the prizes. I know the man who does and he's the one I'll get in touch with on Monday when everyone's back at their desks after the hols.)

I sent my own "polite enquiry" to the comps address because that was all I had and I am afraid I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said that if it was too difficult to re-issue the cheque I'd be happy with a replacement of the copy.

Please don't be cross with me or fierce with them.

I pride myself on being pleasant at all times, whilst doing my best to get what I'm after. It generally works!
