PIVOT 55, which I have guest-edited, will be published in December or January. It is a special issue featuring a heaping selection of poems or long narrative pieces, as well as some translations, by the following poets whose only identifying similarity is that they primarily write in form. A number of Able Musers are represented.

John Burt
Jack Butler
Kelly Cherry
Christopher Clausen
Robert Darling
Peter Filkins
Paul Lake
Kate Light
Miichael Lind
Charles Martin
David Mason
David Middleton
Leslie Monsour
Robert B. Shaw
A.E. Stallings
Gail White

If you are not already a subscriber to Pivot, I encourage you to do so. Pivot is published twice annually and a subscription costs $20.00. International subscriptions are $24.00 payable in US dollars.

Please make all checks payable to "Pivot Inc." and mail directly to:

Yes, I second Wade's recommendation. Pivot is one of only about a dozen formal friendly journals out there, and almost the only one very open to longer narrative verse. The affiliated Somers Rock Press has published a number of chapbooks and books by people here, such as OUR Len Krisak and Lisa Barnett, and there are even fewer formal friendly publishers than journals. So....listen to Wade.

It's impossibly inconvenient for Brits to send dollar subscriptions.
On-line subscription by credit card is essential for publications aiming for an international readership.

Speaking of Pivot

I've just received the summer issue, (is it very late, or is it just my mailman's attitude again )? and in it are several poems by Wade himself - big congrats on your upcoming book, as well as the guest editorship, several adaptations and translations by Jennifer Reeser, a lengthy piece by Joe Aimone, and four lil poems by wendy v, aka Wendy Videlock. (Good Lord, those caps.) I hope I haven't missed any other Eratters. Two of mine were workshopped here; thanks to all of you who so generously stop in on my poems and encourage me to fix them up, toss them away, or simply believe in them.

Congrats to all,
wendy

Well Ms Videlock. A most hearty congratulations to you. And a pleasure to look you up on google and read your other web-published poems. 'Tis a pleasure.

Yes, congratulations to all! Wendy, I did a little googling myself, and I can imagine that "Stripper" might not be mom's fave. It's a strong statement. The form is spare and powerful, as is the case with several of the other poems I saw.

First of all congratulations to Wendy and the others who have had credits.

Secondly, I would have to agree with David, that any international readers are handicapped by purely local currency payments. The rigmarole (and expense) to get a dollar cheque for my Formalist subscription was horrendous. Online credit card payments are essential, I believe.

Thanks Tony, for kind words, (it's good to be googled ), and Nigel.

Hope Wade's listening in on the concern re: international readership and subscriptions.

Dear Wendy:

Thank you for your congrats on my book. I will post a separate announcement shortly.

I enjoyed your poems in Pivot 54, particularly "Of You," especially the last stanza.

Regarding David and Nigel's international subscriptions issue, I cannot speak for the publisher. I suggest directing your concerns to him directly.

Wade
