It's a great poem Manny, not least because it creates a modern voice within the sonnet form.
Good poems have a long life, so many poets only become popular after they are dead. Or remain, perhaps deliberately, 'hidden' or only appreciated by a small group during their career. .
I think therefore the poet can't worry or care too much about readership, nor about readers' interpretations.
Your poem says many things, so many interpretations.
It made me consider the nature of sacrifice, how all crime is a sacrifice.
I think when you start a poem with 'Christ' you are, even if subconsciously, invoking Christ and therefore asking the reader to think in Christian terms.
