The title alone would have been enough. The rest nearly wrecked the poem. It was too much inside baseball. It actually is one of the better written sonnets. The turn was a little weak but not enough to undo the sestet. The final couplet was excellent. It makes the poem go live on Broadway. I don't know if it breaks my top five.

Archaic? Beg pardon, but, I guess I merely echo, and where?

Perhaps twas so beautifully executed I had to fault it on L4 which broke down with "eloquent" and "venom" pushed into one another until I am half left choking on that minor detail as if it would make this a veritable winner if only.

And I shall nitpick further with the overabundance of similar end-rhymes, which is not to specs but flows nicely nonetheless.

I like the casual turn in the sestet as per regulation, caught praising it too highly, and left with a raised brow as the sonneteer does exactly what we all prefer, wisely realizing the double-edged assault catches oneself, he settles for glory in lieu of judgment. Or correct me.

Fault me for liking too readily.
