BORN TO MARVEL: Poems from the Comic Books
DRAWN TO MARVEL – POEMS FROM THE COMIC BOOKS has just been published by Minor Arcana Press. This MARVELlous anthology contains poems inspired by Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, (if you have a favorite superhero (or super villain), they're probably in here!) As if that's not enough, there are a few Spherians represented--Tony Barnstone, Ned Balbo and myself. I apologize if I've missed anyone.

Hi Marion,
Thanks for posting this. I just checked the contributors, it's an incredibly distinguished list, including people like John Ashbery, Rae Armantraut, and Albert Goldbarth. Plus the distinguished Sphereans you mention, and many people I know from the LA area, actually!
I love this criss-crossing of genres.

Anton Yakovlev read a poem based on Mr. Freeze from Batman comics at Carmine Street Metrics on Sunday. It was unbelievable (I noticed that George Green asked him for a copy of the poem, and was totally blown away).
Anton has Pow Wow cred as well as Carmine St.
I could, and may still, stomp on my stupid video recorder for running out of memory halfway into Anton's reading.
Thanks for the heads up on the book, Marion.

The Marionator!
Cally, that's about the nicest thing anyone ever said to me!
I was a Superman fanatic as a kid, but the one I really identified with was Supergirl. Boy, did I want to be her!
My next phase was to be Supermom, but that didn't happen either!
I guess I've always been trying to get in touch with my inner superhero. I suspect I'm not the only one.
Anyway, thanks!
