Oh dear, David - we are not secessionists. The label is as patronising at best as it is singularly ill-informed. As a matter of information that section of the electorate - however, many or few of them vote - is 74% in favour of independence. They can tell a hawk from a handshaw and know full well that their future will be pitifully circumscribed in the extra-European world of hard-Tory 'Brexit'.
The real purpose of them being enfranchised - as we would have them be for all elections - is to recognise that times have changed and there is probably no other age group which should more heavily involved in deciding he future of our society than those who are just coming into full participation in its decisions. The SNP was already planning these elements of the franchise (both in the Scottish Government's White Paper) - as we had done in 2014 - but the Green amendment has the additional merit of making them, from the start of the engagement with Westminster, the will of the Scottish Parliament. It received an even bigger majority than the Referendum Bill motion.
