Mike:
Thanks for calling MY attention to it! I think I knew the poem was being or had been published, but I didn't know it was online. It's especially appropriate that the poem should appear now because I'm teaching a course in the Bible as literature, and many of my students are fundamentalist Christians -- good, sincere folks, all of them, but Christians of a very different stripe from me, so different that many of them would probably not even concede that the word "Christian" can be stretched enough to include me. Of course we don't explicitly deal with theology in the course, but it can hardly be kept entirely out. That little poem was written long ago out of my own conviction that God makes sure He doesn't leave fingerprints.
Richard

Congrats, Richard

If you will e-mail Terry Ponick at terryP17@aol.com I know he will be glad to correct the typo which begins L10 of your In Medias Res, the online version, which is a very fine poem.

Odd how devastating to a poem a typo can be, especially one that results in some incongruous word.

Best regards,

W/G

Yes, fine poem.
There's an excellent one by Len Krisak, too.

Sorry, big fella, for overlooking your fine poem. I do most of my surfing in the middle of the night, and I'm always altogether.
