I may have asked this some time in the past: what exactly is the prize?
I clicked and clicked and never found a clear statement.

Hi John,

I don't have any info beyond what's on the website, but on this page, it says that the total cash prize is over $2000, to be distributed among winners in the categories mentioned. It doesn't say how much they award in each category, but I'm sure you could email and ask.

I recently shared this with other teachers at the school where I teach, since there's a section for young people (17 and under) as well. Nausheen, maybe your friend's talented son (the one with the poem on the Rattle site) could give this a try--or anyone else's budding poet!
