As virtues go, forgiveness is the jewel.
No other action stays the arching bow.
The history of treachery is cruel,
And bountiful by hand of friend and foe.
Forgiving men their trespass is more task
Than basking in forgivness offerred forth.
The energy to shed the wrathful mask,
Ignites the light to true direction North.
The grace of God seems often wide of mark,
Too late to armor hope before blood flows.
Forgiving God when night is dire and dark
High water marks the mind that knows it knows.
The fitful sad and pointless sleep of Seems
Awakens, through foregiveness, into dreams.
