There are two competitions going on RIGHT NOW in the Distinguished Guest forum. The prize for each is
the winner's choice of any book from the Able Muse Press catalog.
So far there are only six entries for the contest whose entry deadline is September 30, and zero entries for the contest whose entry deadline is October 3.
Pretty good odds of winning. AND you can enter as many times as you like. Seriously, this is worth checking out.
Both of these contests are just crying out for humorous treatments. Come on over! Skip the long first message and cut to the second message in each thread, if you don't have time to wade through lengthy explanations.
The threads in question are:
2014 Translation Bake-Off thread 2A--Meleager's bee
2014 Translation Bake-Off thread 2B--Meleager's mosquito (1 of 2)
The winners of both contests will be declared by a popular vote, to be conducted at the same time as the popular vote for the winner of the main Translation Bake-Off (the finalists of which will be posted for discussion on the Feast of St. Jerome, patron of translators, on 30 September).
Cheers,
Julie
