Default Peacock Journal

I'm happy to report 3 poems on-line at www.peacockjournal.com. This is a lovely venue that could use more formalists, and I encourage everyone to submit. They will even illustrate your work with a suitable painting (mine is Hylas and the Water Nymphs).

Thank you for the link, Gail. Those are very nice poems - I especially enjoyed reading about mermaids - and i agree with you about cats. As Baudelaire says:

Les amoureux fervents et les savants austères
Aiment également, dans leur mûre saison,
Les chats puissants et doux, orgueil de la maison,
Qui comme eux sont frileux et comme eux sédentaires.

Cheers,
John

O, Gail, these are wonderful poems! They brim with beauty and wisdom and love. But if I had to choose among them for a "favorite", I would have to say that, as someone who is also on the "primrose path toward" her seventies, "Resemblances" struck a deep chord, very deep, and all I could do was nod in agreement and understanding. Brava!

Gail, your closing couplet, "hiss/abyss," is a thing of beauty, in itself. Lovely, lovely. Congratulations to the editors, and to you, too. And thank you for these. It is a beautiful journal, to be sure.

J

It is a fine journal I have been in it and I must send more stuff.

Gail, your poems are beautiful and the picture is one of my favourites.
