It's inconceivable that Trump could have written this, Jim.
Yes it is. Sadly, it is.

No, but it doesn't take a lot of brainpower to order missile strikes (or worse) on your perceived enemies. Diplomacy takes smarts. Warmongering only takes means.

I disagree with the "nor does he want to" part, Bill. I think he has demonstrated in numerous ways that he would very much like to be a strongman in the mold of Putin, Kim Jong-un, Erdogan or Duterte, whose "leadership" he admires, whose compliments he values, and whom he'd be "honored" to host at the White House.

Yes. My hope is that Donald Trump will be unable to subvert American democracy; my fear is that he can corrupt it. That's how I expect to go through these next years.
The poisoning of the well continues.
Update: of course, it's possible that Trump has already subverted American democracy, by colluding with Russia to get elected. But institutional structures broadly remain in place. No thanks, regrettably, to Mitch McConnell, or the rest of the Republican Congress.

Not sure how Obama's father weaselled his way into the conversation. I was thinking of the BE's treatment of Kenyans en masse, not of Obama's father in particular, as having a plausible connection to Obama "not liking the English". If indeed that is true. It's so hard to tell these days.
