There is some interesting work there today by Ted Genoways--an almost narrative sequence of sonnets in slant/assonant terza rima, set on a farm. Probably too neo- formalist for some tastes, but I enjoyed them. Particularly those new to working in the sonnet might be intrigued to see the different shapes this bright container can contain.
www.poems.com
After today (Sunday) they will be available in the Poetry Daily archives.
Sonnets in terza rima are of course not a new thing. Frost's "I have been one acquainted with the night" sonnet springs to mind for one.
Anyway, thought you all might enjoy.

Err... I just realized I posted this entirely under the wrong topic. I meant to do it under general announcements. Unless, of course, this fellow decides to become a member.
Maybe I should just go back to being a Luddite.
sigh,
AE

Alicia: Although generally I rather enjoy trashing the work of people who have beaten me out on a book prize because at heart I am a petty and vindictive person, I am denied that pleasure in this case. Thoughtful rich poems, with a hint of the best of Ted Kooser. Mike

...but now our bylaws require you to track him down and tell him he has to become a member.

Let's see it's under Rule 42(b) Subpart A, paragraph 3: Penalty for misposting. You know, I'd show some mercy, but that Alex...

Ironic that I posted this under "accomplished" members, isn't it, since clearly my technical accomplishments are limited.
Can we just make him an honorary member?

Good idea Mike! I have tried to send him a message via Poetry Daily. Maybe he will drop by.

Well, Alicia, you're astonishing! I see from our newest member notice that Ted Genoways is now OUR Ted Genoways, so you not only found him, but seduced him here! Great work! Maybe we should do more of this, prowling the Internet for terrific poets...

Greetings to all of you and many thanks for your kind words of praise! Special thanks to Alicia for pointing me here and to Mike for the comparison to Ted Kooser. Ted was one of my first poetry profs and remains one of my favorite poets. I hope to hear more from you in the near future.
