That was a terrific poem! My sources tell me that heavy money is already beginning to be placed, and the bookmakers have tentatively established you as a six-to-five favorite. (My suggestion is to hold off - the odds may get better if they receive a few more entries.)

Update: the noble Stuart is, indeed, only the organizer--the actual judge is Michael Newman of Cheltenham. His poems are widely available online by Googling "michael newman cheltenham," if entrants want to increase their odds of winning by analyzing the judge's taste in poetry. (His home address is also widely available online in connection with those poems, if entrants want to increase their odds of winning by directing bribes or threats to him.)

I mainly posted this announcement to salve David Anthony's recent commiseration with Martin Elster for not living in the correct region to be eligible for the local bird-themed poetry event Maryann Corbett mentioned. This local contest might be a little more local for David, if not Martin. But I also admit that I just like saying Chipping Sodbury.
