What Mike said. I haven't read it in years, and don't know anybody who takes BAP seriously. It's a little bit like laughing at Donald Trump.

"It would be easier to read the entrails of sheep." Oh, my!

"Lehman says almost nothing of interest about American poetry, and little beyond platitudes that would embarrass a self-help guru." Ouch!

"Lehman’s prose is so clunky, thrown together from hackneyed allusions and used car parts, that I have to take a handful of aspirin after reading..." Dang.

"Lehman’s clichés are those of hacks everywhere..." Somebody call the burn unit, please!

Normally, I don't go in for this kind of thing, but the whole piece was rather refreshing...

Dang, just as my poem's about to appear in BAP!

I have never heard of Bap (a soft-topped bread roll?) but if your poem's in it, Sam, then it is obviously a splendid thing.

I didn't know BAP either, but I clicked Sam's link and all was revealed.

It's like throwing hamsters into a cage to fight a python.
