Kim Bridgford put up the following notice on FB yesterday about next year's Poetry by the Sea Conference:
Dear All,
It is with great pleasure that I announce that the keynote speaker for
Poetry by the Sea 2016, May 24-28, is Kimiko Hahn.
Kimiko Hahn, author of nine books, finds that disparate sources have given way to her poetry—whether black lung disease in Volatile, Flaubert’s sex-tour in The Unbearable Heart, an exhumation in The Artist's Daughter, or classical Japanese forms in The Narrow Road to the Interior. Rarified fields of science prompted her latest collections Toxic Flora and Brain Fever. Hahn is a passionate advocate of chapbooks, and her latest is The Cryptic Chamber. Her most recent award was a Guggenheim Fellowship, and she is a distinguished professor in the MFA Program in Creative Writing & Literary Translation at Queens College, City University of New York.
Please mark your calendars for this important event. We are located at Mercy by the Sea in Madison, CT, right on the water. Join the conference that has been called "game changing."
Warm wishes,
Kim Bridgford
