Beltway Poetry Quarterly call for sonnets
I saw this on Allison Joseph's CRWROPPS listserve, and thought it might be of interest to Spherean sonneteers, though it's only open to poets in the mid-Atlantic states:
Quote:
Beltway Poetry Quarterly is reading sonnets by poets who live or work in DC, MD, VA, WV, or DE through the end of August for a special upcoming issue of the journal. Submit up to 5 sonnets for consideration. We seek the full range, from traditional Shakespearean and Petrarchan sonnets, to other variations on the form, such as blank verse sonnets, envelope sonnets, hybrid sonnets, couplet sonnets, or free verse sonnets. Free verse sonnets must still borrow important elements from the tradition, such as the 14-line length, compression, and use of the volta.
